Current Events Quiz #1

1).  The proposed police budget for 2015-2016 is $394 million--$25 million more than last year's budget.

2).  Travis County Jail is helping inmates remove their tattoos in order to help them get rid of memories that they're not proud of.

3).  The proposed parking pass for this year's ACL festival has been raised from $80 to $100.

4).  AISD will have $2 million less to spend in the 2015-2016 school year because of state-required "sharing."

5).  The Texas Longhorns are competing against Notre Dame this weekend.

6).  The federal government has decreed that same-sex marriage is legal in all fifty states.  Denying gay couples marriage licenses based off personal beliefs isn't morally right.

       Kim Davis has the right to her own opinions, but she does not have the right to restrict other from their own.  Arrest seems severe, but something should be done about the issue.  It's wreaking unneeded havoc in Kentucky.

       There's a federal government for a reason.  If state and county governments could do whatever they wanted despite what the federal government says, the federal government would be redundant.
